Erica Bruington (Director of “A Raisin in the Sun”)… is making her Directing debut here at Maplewood. She has been acting in shows with “the Barn” since 2011. The first was a production of “The Odd Couple” (Female version). Erica has been in two University of Missouri theater plays, and a Columbia Entertainment production. In 2015, she had the opportunity to appear in a motion picture “Almost Christmas”, directed by nationally acclaimed Playwright, filmmaker, David E. Talbert, which showed in theaters November 2016. She has also attended some of Mr. Talbert’s acting workshops which helps her to bring variety of knowledge and experience to this show. Erica currently works for Columbia Public Schools as a middle school teacher. She also attends and serves in the area of finance with her local church, Urban Empowerment. Erica has a lifelong dream of gracing the big screen again as a leading actress. She would like for everyone to know that it is never too late to pursue your dreams!
