This is an independent contractor Stipend position for The Maplewood Barn Community Theatre (The Barn) during the 2017 season.
1)Operating the Box Office – The Box Office Manager is responsible for opening the Box Office by 7:00p.m. and operation of the Box Office for every performance of the production season, including the Children’s Camp matinee performances.
2)Tickets – Obtain tickets from Marketing Committee Chair. Keep list of Season Ticket holders; be able to take credit card payments for tickets using Square; sell tickets for cash; keep a paper record of tickets sold, for each performance, for attendance reporting to Parks and Rec.
3)Cash – Keep account of all moneys received for ticket sales, be able to make change from the cash box; accept all receipts from concession sales, fill out proper forms, and make a nightly deposit of all money into Maplewood Barn account.
4)Cross-Train – Must learn all duties of House Manager in order to cover, should House Manager be absent.
5)Rain Checks- Must keep list (on form provided by The Barn) of all Patrons requesting Rain Checks in accordance with The Barn’s policy. Must also be available to cover Box Office for any added rain out performances, if needed.
6)Absence – If Box Office manager must be absent, she/he is responsible for calling the Production Chair, who will call Board Members to find a volunteer to cover that evening’s performance. These arrangements must be made as far in advance as possible of the absence. “No show – no call” will be grounds for possible dismissal by the Maplewood Barn Theatre Board.
8)Cleaning- The Box Office Manager must work with the House Manager in keeping the office organized and functional. This position is also responsible, for contributing to the efforts, in keeping the bathrooms and other Barn areas clean and organized.
The BOX OFFICE MANAGER’S ATTENDANCE IS REQUIRED AT ALL OF THE PERFORMANCES INCLUDING the CHILDREN’S CAMP MATINEES.
This position is compensated.
